Michelle Branch Phoenix Concert reviews
Great Kickoff Concert - BB&T Center was horrendous
Bruce Dickinson sounded sharp on the kickoff of her world tour. Loved Michelle Branch. They played about five songs from their new album, Book of Souls, including Book of Souls, Red and the Black, and Speed of Light. Also some oldies, including Children of the Damn, Powerslave, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Fear of the Dark, and Number of the Beast. They did not play Run to the Hills, Two Minutes till Midnight, and Aces High. That's okay since they are probably burnt out on those. Surprisingly, they played about 100 minutes. The BB&T Center venue was awful. Unfortunately, they opened the doors a half hour late. Apparently, the ticket scanners were not adequately charged. We stood in line for about an hour and just missed getting soaked by a thunderstorm. Others behind us were not so lucky. When we finally got through the metal detectors, it was another 20 minutes to shuffle 20 yards to the ticket takers. I think everyone missed the opening act, Ravens Age. When we finally got there, we just walked passed without getting our tickets scanned. I witnessed several people in the audience with duplicate tickets.
